Remembering Roy Roberts (1940-2022)

Roy Roberts advocated for Republican principles long before our county voted reliably for GOP candidates. In fact, many could argue (and do so successfully) that the vast majority of the current advancement of Republican ideals in Walton County can be attributed to him and his leadership. Roy was larger than life as evidenced by the well-known, annual barbecue hosted at his farm. This Walton Tribune article is a great read about Roy's political influence. The Walton County Republican Party will continue to benefit, for many years to come, from what Roy built and sustained for so long. To borrow a phrase, “If we see more and farther than our predecessors, it is not because we have keener vision or greater height, but because we are lifted up and stand on the shoulders of giants.” We are forever grateful and deeply indebted to our leader, Chairman Roy Roberts. .
